- Designed and conducted technical interviews for Python and Java developer roles across the company's project portfolio. UBS is a global financial services company offering banking solutions worldwide. I was responsible for enhancing the models used in data analysis.
- Consultant at UBS (via Wipro) on the statistical and risk models behind the US mortgage market, with most of the time going to model performance and delivery. Led the modernization of the model codebase under the guidance of a senior colleague, defining the approach and working processes: a test suite first, to understand the models and guard against regressions, which opened the way to CI/CD; then a mix of refactoring and rewriting legacy code around the single responsibility principle, since the business needed each step of the calculations to be independently adjustable.
- Cut a key calculation's runtime by 33% and eliminated major bugs. Reduced memory load significantly by reworking the data-processing path and cut CPU time by refining existing algorithms, giving faster runs on the same hardware. Built the CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for automated, repeatable deployments, managed the codebase deployed on Azure, and kept continuous documentation that got new joiners productive quickly.
- Served as the main IT contact for the Mars Pod, coordinating IT initiatives across the group, and supported a cross-functional team extracting data from custom TIFF files, where large parts of the codebase had to be rewritten and communication mattered as much as the code.
